One of the amazing things about Palm Sunday is the contrast between the humility of riding a donkey, and the majesty of who Jesus really is.

Zechariah 9:9 is a key verse which helps us understand: "Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey..." (this is quoted in the Palm Sunday account in Matthew 21:1-11)

Here's a harvest song that's great for the younger children at Sunday School, but that the whole church family will love to sing too.

It's about a seed, and how it grows into a big strong plant, and not a weed, thanks to God's help.

It's a very 21st Century Harvest Song, though, reminding us about "the science God has made," and helping the children to see that faith isn't incompatible with facts!

There are some fun actions, and you can get MP3 files to sing along to, and sheet music in PDF format. It's also on a CD of Harvest Songs.

It's great to celebrate Harvest!

The Bible tells us that God is always at work helping us to have the food we need. Jesus, as Lord of the Universe, created all things for himself, and "in him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:16-17) - so that means the plants that our food comes from too. He made them, they "hold together" - they grow, and keep growing - because of Him. Jesus makes it clear that we're to pray to "Our Father", "Give us today our daily bread!"

So it makes so much sense to praise Him and thank Him for our food - when it's Harvest, and all year round! At our church we're going to be having a special "Harvest" All-Age service, and I'll be doing Harvest Assemblies in school too. Perhaps you'll be celebrating Harvest with the Sunday School or a Kids' Club?

Here's a great song that sums that all up: "Harvest Time" - a time for "Thank you" because God is at work in it all, and "Please" because he's still at work today.

Three great guys, also know as Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (but not by many people). They turn up in Daniel chapter 1, and chapter 3. On both occasions they stand firm for what God wants, in the face of a society that is going the WRONG way. They even risk their lives for God - and He rescues them from a fiery furnace!

Along with Daniel they make great heroes for children and young people in Sunday School and other church clubs - so let's sing about them!
